Several weeks after an order is placed, the customer receives an email with these 5 questions:

  1. Does the Buttshield help in reducing impact when you fall? Please elaborate.
  2. Does the Buttshield stay in place when you ride? Is it comfortable?
  3. How about thermal insulation - do you find sitting on the snow warmer and drier?
  4. Would you recommend the Buttshield to other snowboarders? If so, how would you describe it to them in one or two sentences?
  5. How would you describe the service? Please comment about the website, ease of ordering, promptness of shipping (if international, please specify what country), etc...

Here are some of the replies:

Brian M., Woodinville, Washington

1. Yes lots
2. Most of the time, but sometimes it can ride up
3. Yes it does make it warmer.
4. Yes I have recomended it to about 10 people so far already.
5. Great service, came quick

David W., London, England

1. Yes - I am a beginner and think I would've have broken my cock-six without it.
2. Yes - both
3. Yes - quite comfortable sitting in snow for ages
4. Indeed. An essential part of your gear for everyone. I've recommended it to
all my mates...I saw some intermediates boarders taking falls that must've
really hurt.
5. Excellent - to London, UK in 4 days.
Teresa O., Irvine, California

1. Yes. Knowing it's back there helps me to relax and be less stiff when I
fall, which seems to make it hurt less.
2. Yes, it stays in place but no, it's not optimally comfortable. I have ski
pants that fit tighter than snowboard pants, and I think I'll have to change
next season. With my ski pants, the BS sticks out a little and I've gotten
snow surprises down there on some falls. I'm falling less the better I get,
but I still like wearing it because it keeps my bottom dry.
3. Yes, see nunber 2. Even when I'm not falling, I spend time sitting in the
snow and I've noticed the difference.
4. Yes! I'm beginning this sport at 44 years old, and I need all the padding I
can get. <g> The BS makes me forget my fear of falling backwards. I
describe it as an ensolite pad contoured to your derriere to protect it from
bruises and cold.
5. Your service was nothing short of awesome. I ordered online (from Irvine)
on a Wednesday night (after a fun but painful, padless day at Mountain High)
and it was at my doorstep by 9:30 a.m. Thursday. I didn't want to risk the
two-day delivery because I was going boarding again the next Sunday, but it
seems like I could've gotten away with it. You guys rock!!
Tim H., Flint, Michigan

1. it does it spreads the impact out over a larger area
2. very comfy after a few minutes you forget about it until you sit down onthe snow then you have instant warmth feedback
3. very much so warmer on the lift also
4. yes it increases the comfort level and decreases the oww factor
5. a+
Mike K., San Diego, California

1. yes. it used to hurt when i fell on my ass- now it doesnt.
2. sometimes it moves down a little but for the most part, it stays put. its only uncomfortable when i get sweaty-ass.
3. i dont sit in the snow.
4. yes- i reccomend it all the time. some people clown me for wearing my buttsheild but if we both take the same fall, their ass will hurt and mine wont- so whos the clown now?
5. it was cheap, easy to order and i had it in about 3 days.
Nicola W., San Francisco, California

1. YES! It certainly does not feel as sore or as hard as without it.
2. Yes it stays in place, I've never felt it move. It is quite comfortable, I just feel like I have put a few pounds on when I close my pants.
3. This was an added benefit I was not aware of when I bought the buttshielf. The first time I fell it was such a bonus, I felt like I could sit in the snow all day. It definitely heats your butt, and this should probably be shouted about in your marketing, it's a great benefit.
4. Yes I have done, and my friend has already ordered one - (both fellow tailbone injuries!) I would describe it as the best investment I made to make snowboarding more enjoyable.
5. The service was extremely efficient and hassle free. The website was intuitive and easy to get through in no time at all. Very clear and straightforward ordering process with a timely and speedy delivery. Although, I do credit the timeliness of the delivery to the fact that I live in California, so therefore am probably quite close to you guys.
Best of luck with a great product, I will be spreading the word for you!
Steven B., Switzerland

1. Yes it does. When I think im going to fall I try to land on my butt. On hard falls it still hurts a little but im sure not as much as it should.
2. Yes but the top of the Buttsheild does not poke out of my pants. After a few runs I forget its there.
3. The insulation Buttsheild provides is brilliant and I do not feel the cold at all when I sit down. The only problem I have found is I sweat due to the Buttsheild keeping me to warm. But its still a small price to pay.
4. I have already recommended it to two people one of whom ordered straight away the other is waiting until he has enough money. Makes snowboarding a whole lot more fun when your not thinking about your next fall or how much the last fall hurt.
5. Web site was very well designed although I was unsure if you offered other products. It only took one week to be delivered to Switzerland all in all a very good service.
Matt C., Los Angeles, California

1. I injured my hip about a year ago snowboarding. It was because of this injury that has NOT gone away that I bought the buttshield, to impact any falls I might have. I did hit the mountain twice when I went up last, and it did help. I wish it protected my hip a little better, perhaps you have something for that? My hip KILLS when I land on it. I must say though, the buttshield did help impact the two falls and my hip doesn't hurt that bad today.
2. The Buttshield does stay in place for the most part. I would have to say, and maybe this is a little premature as it might form to by buttocks over time, but it feels a little big. This is good though, because of what I was saying about the hip and all, but it looks and feels a little goofy. I imagine it will form more to my butt as I wear it more though. Anyway, it's really comfortable, it makes sitting down much better!
3. Good point! I didn't really think about that, but it's true! Yeah, it did make sitting on the snow to strap in the bindings better. I must admit though, when it's about 50 outside, the snow aint that cold!! Definitely drier too, my pants are not 100% water resistant, so yeah, it made a difference.
4. I would definitely recommend it to other snowboarders. In fact, I went up with two friends who are still beginners. They sure looked like they needed it. I kept telling them, you gotta try this thing! In one or two sentences..."The Buttshield takes away that fear of falling that most people have because when you fall with the Buttshield, it doesn't hurt. This leads to less falls and an improvement in the performance of the snowboarder."
5. Service was great. No complaints ... Thanks so much! Also, shipping was like lightning! Unbelieveable! Thanks guys!
Pat L., Saint Charles, Missouri

1. The buttshield dramatically reduced the impact when I fell. I'm an intermediate snowboarder, so I still tend to fall at higher speeds. I'm pretty sure that my butt would be really sore if I didn't have the buttshield.
2. The buttshield tends to shift at times and needs readjustment every few falls. The buttshield is very comfortable. There were times when I forgot I was wearing the buttshield.
3. Thermal insulation is amazing. Kept me very warm and dry when I sat on the cold snow.
4. I would highly recommend it to snowboarders.
Description: "Sore ass? No problem! Get a buttshield!
5. Excellent!
