I'm
an advanced boarder. Why do I need the ButtShield?
It's simple - every time you try a new trick,
whether it's riding faky or landing a 720, your chances of falling
and taking a nasty hit are higher than those of a beginner on a
bunny slope. In fact, you will fall faster and harder than a beginner
- guaranteed! The ButtShield's layer of cushion is extremely
effective in giving you the extra confidence you need to learn new
riding skills, try new techniques, and get bigger air. The only
way to develop and advance is by pushing the envelope. The ButtShield
makes this task much less painful. By trying tricks you were afraid
to try before - you will find yourself improving faster!
The ButtShield seems bulky. Is it comfortable to wear?
The ButtShield is designed to cover your
entire butt and lower back. Not just the tailbone, not just the
sides! Also, within one or two runs the ButtShield's shock-absorbing
foam will curve itself to fit your rear-end. Sounds funny? Try it
for yourself. After your first run you won't even remember it's
there. After your first fall you will feel the considerable difference,
with significantly reduced impact and shock. If anything, wearing
a ButtShield enhances overall comfort. Some of our testers
were skeptical prior to using the pad. After several runs - ALL
demanded keeping their pad and are still using it. Every single
one.
What about looking goofy?
With today's oversized snowboarding fashion, the
ButtShield (worn inside your pants) is barely noticeable on
most people. This is especially true after a run or two where the
ButtShield's shape has conformed to your body. Coupled with
the fact that most snowboarding jackets and tops cover your butt
anyway - the "coolness factor" becomes a non-issue.
Does it shift around back there?
The ButtShield's shape is designed to hold
in place, while its foam material has a special texture which makes
it "stick" to the inside of your pants. It works wonderfully. There
is no need for a belt or some biker shorts to hold it in place.
Once you've inserted it correctly it stays where it needs to be.
Follow the following two steps:
 |
Top of the ButtShield just "peaking"
over top of pants. |
| Make sure thigh flaps are inserted as far
down as possible. This locks ButtShield into place and
prevents any shifting during riding. |
